Velhorod, the City of Eons
Undertalk is the defacto slang of much of the Velhorod underworld. It’s formed by a mixture of influences from the Goblin Ganggob and the lower eschelons of the Collegia. In truth, it is only one of the doznes of dialects present in the City, but it’s one of the widest used, and is likely to be heard in any of the less fashionable taverns and districts in the city.
The Big – Velhorod, the City.
Bragsweat – a bigmouth, also, one of the city criers
Bust-up – an organized fight between factions in the city, done on challenge over matters of honor or turf.
Clang – to arrest, lock up. A ‘clanger’ is a jailer or Vigilant.
Ganggob – the organized crime syndicates of the Goblins. The Ganggob means the overarching alliance of goblin gangs and families. A Ganggob means one particular faction.
Glint – Gold. Cash. Valuables.
Gob-mother – The head of a Ganggob. Usually female.
Milkskin – A mark or rube, a potential victim.
Mograt’s Meals – people who delve into the forgotten underground of the city. Mograt is a mythical(?) ill-defined monster that dwells underneath the city, according to Goblin tales.
Ol-brother – a lieutenant, usually in a Ganggob.
Rotten – truly low quality alcohol, a favorite of goblinfolk but only the desperate otherwise drink it. “In the rotten” means drunk or happy.
Stank-none – a do-gooder or rich folk.
Scraggy – messed up, ugly.
Scrib or Scribby – in some connotations, similar to ‘dude’, in others, similar to ‘fucker’ or ‘jerk’.
Slagger – a fighter or brute.
Strung and Bang – as a noun, a set of musicians and bards. As a verb, getting ready for a street fight.
Toestomper – amongst goblins, any human; also, any authority figure, particularly Guardians.
Swaddle – a child, street urchin.
